Cable testing and cable diagnostics on medium-voltage cable systems (DE)
Objectives
This seminar aims to teach participants how to test and diagnose cables, how to identify weak points in insulation, joints, and terminations, and how to prevent cable failure. You will learn about the latest test and diagnostics procedures as well as the different test and diagnostics systems. Furthermore, you will gain the skills to independently carry out voltage tests and cable diagnostics on medium-voltage systems, taking the relevant regulations, guidelines, and laws into account.
Content covered in the seminar
Theoretical part
- Non-destructive cable diagnostics (TD measurement and PD measurement)
- Combination of cable testing and diagnostics (Monitored Withstand Test – MWT and Full MWT)
- Online PD testing without switching off cables
- Detection of partial discharge activities in switchgear and cable accessories
- Practical diagnostic measurements in the customer network
Practical part
- Systematic approach to the connection of cable diagnostics devices in the medium-voltage network
- Cordoning off and clearly marking the danger zone and test area
- Function and application of cable diagnostics devices
- Practical exercises on the cable route
